Founders first sat down at the table in 2012 and have grown from a small group of five enthusiasts to well over 200 individuals in an ever expanding interest group reaching not only all avenues of sport and recreation but education, health, social service agencies and municipal sectors as well.

Vision
Physical literacy champions feel connected, supported and engaged.
Purpose
PLAY Calgary connects individuals and organizations who see the potential of physical literacy as the gateway to a more active, healthy society. PLAY Calgary is a voluntary, non-profit collaborative that brings together volunteers, members of non-profit organizations, staff, teachers, coaches, facilitators, leaders and interested citizens, in order to build the overall capacity of the associated sectors to advance physical literacy within the population of Calgary and area.
Aim
The aim of PLAY Calgary is to:
- Share physical literacy best practices and resources
- Encourage collaboration
- Provide a forum for networking
- Stay up to date with current local and provincial initiatives
- Encourage the application of new knowledge
